This two-week STEAM Based intensive invites middle schoolers to think like artists, designers, and problem-solvers. Through hands-on building challenges, students will explore how to identify the needs of others, whether imaginary creatures or themselves, and respond with creative, thoughtful design solutions. In the first week, students will encounter playful design prompts that challenge them to protect, house, and care for something beyond themselves.
They'll learn how to draft blueprints, think in scale, and build small models that reflect both function and imagination.In the second week, the focus shifts inward. Students will reflect on their own needs and values, designing and building a personal “safe place” model inspired by their own sense of comfort and identity. Each session blends art, storytelling, and creative construction. Students will leave with new skills, new ideas, and models that bring their vision to life.
