Description:

This course offers middle school students a unique opportunity to explore Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture while also engaging in design thinking and problem-solving. Students will develop both technical skills and creative concepts as they learn to design for their own needs as well as the needs of others. Through projects that incorporate blueprint drawing, perspective, and practical design, students will explore how art can address real-world challenges and contribute to personal and communal expression.

In addition to technical instruction, students will build awareness of how to create with intention—considering both functional and artistic elements. Throughout the course, students will also delve into the power of narrative and identity, using art as a tool for storytelling and self-expression. This class emphasizes creative problem solving, collaboration, and constructive feedback, fostering a supportive environment where students take artistic risks and grow as confident, thoughtful creators.
