This workshop explores how beadwork and collage can operate in tandem within a sculptural context. Students will learn about a variety of artists that employ found object assemblage, collage, beadwork and a variety of mixed media in their practices; such as Betye Saar, Joseph Cornell, and Sacha Ingber. Students will begin with exploring exercises in collage and beadwork; culminating in a concept-driven small-scale sculpture or 2D artwork that combines these techniques.
