Description:
In this 3-day junk journaling intensive we will transform everyday overlooked materials into meaningful personalized books. You’ll learn book binding basics, experimental composition, and layering techniques to create a journal that tells your unique story. We’ll explore how ordinary objects carry the narratives of our daily lives, giving new purpose to materials we normally ignore. Through writing prompts, we’ll access deeper intentions in our making process while layering paper, fabric, thread, found objects, and personal ephemera.
Perfect for both beginners and advanced artists, this class offers space to experiment, play, learn new techniques, and follow your intuition. You’ll explore page design, collage and binding basics while incorporating personal touches. Students are encouraged to bring any personal items you’d like to incorporate (old letters, photos, receipts, scraps) and leave with a uniquely personalized concept journal and fresh new techniques to bring into your other work. All skill levels are welcome with materials provided.
