Meet Cloudy Rosas

At the heart of Refuge there are artists who use their work to understand themselves and connect with others. Cloudy Rosas is one of those artists. A Cambodian Mexican American multidisciplinary artist based in Lowell, Cloudy brings an experimental and deeply personal approach to their practice.

In their recent body of work, She Still Loves You Nonetheless, Cloudy explores transformation, healing, and self-discovery. Through acts of reconstruction, Cloudy transforms discarded objects into forms that hold meaning and care. Their work reflects on loneliness, depression, nature, dreams, and spirituality, while encouraging viewers to keep going, to stop hiding, and to practice self-acceptance.

In this interview Cloudy shares their experience as a third-time residence recipient. Beyond their artistic practice, Cloudy serves as a social media manager and a community member within the Western Avenue community and continues on taking on leading roles. They bring intention, support, and connection into shared spaces, helping others grow while continuing to evolve in their own work. Their presence strengthens both the artistic and emotional foundation of the community.
