Meet Daryan Kong

Today we are highlighting one of our longtime students: Daryan, she has been part of Refuge since the age of 14. Now 23, she has developed a strong portfolio of concept-driven and technically refined work, while also expanding into short-form film.

Daryan’s practice reflects both discipline and curiosity. She takes risks across mediums and continues to push her ideas forward. Despite her growth and skill, she remains grounded, consistently supporting those around her.

Her presence in the studio brings energy, humor, and encouragement. She contributes not only through her work, but through the way she shows up for her peers. We are grateful to have her as part of this community. She continues to grow as an artist and leader, and her impact is felt across the space. Taking multiple roles, from student, to projects leader and co-instructor of classes every semester since 2021.
